Newcastle United locked horns with Leeds United at Elland Road earlier today as they looked to earn a good result on the road in the Premier League. The Magpies made a slow start to the game and conceded the opening goal in the seventh minute when Luke Ayling scored for the home side. However, Callum Wilson equalised for the Tyneside club from the penalty spot in the 31st minute. Both sides went into the half-time break with a 1-1 scoreline.

Wilson scored from another penalty in the 69th minute. However, the Magpies conceded their second goal in the 79th minute when Rasmus Kristensen found the back of the net. The contest ended with Eddie Howe’s men earning a hard-fought 2-2 draw away from home.

Let’s take a look at how each Newcastle United player fared during the match against the Whites.

GK: Nick Pope – 7/10

Pope saved a crucial penalty for his team but still ended up conceding a couple of goals during the game.

RB: Kieran Trippier – 7/10

He performed his defensive duties well and managed to engineer some decent chances for his teammates.

CB: Fabian Schar – 7/10

Schar cleared his lines when needed and was a threat at the other end of the pitch.

CB: Sven Botman – 6.5/10

He did his fair share of defending but won’t be happy after conceding two goals today.

He anchored the midfield with conviction and made some promising runs with the ball from midfield.

CM: Joe Willock – 7/10

Willock got stuck in with some solid tackles and caused a few problems for the opposition defenders as well.

RW: Miguel Almiron – 6.5/10

He had a couple of strikes at goal but failed to get his name on the scoresheet.

ST: Callum Wilson – 8/10

Wilson kept his calm to score both his penalties during the game. He just about deserves to be named the man of the match.

LW: Alexander Isak – 7/10

He made two encouraging runs with the ball but failed to get his name on the scoresheet.

Substitutes:

LW: Allan Saint-Maximin – 6.5/10
