On Sunday evening, Manchester United will face West Ham United in a crucial Premier League match, as both teams require points for contrasting reasons. The Red Devils are positioned fourth in the Premier League standings, only four points ahead of fifth-placed Liverpool. In contrast, the Hammers are placed at 15th in the table, with just a four-point lead over the relegation zone.

Manchester United Vs West Ham United: Talking Tactics

Erik ten Hag should stick to the 4-3-3 formation, although he is inclined to make a few tweaks to the first XI after suffering a 1-0 defeat against Brighton. Jadon Sancho and Christian Eriksen are set to play from the start.

David Moyes will probably opt for a 4-2-3-1 formation again and is expected to make a few changes after suffering a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Manchester City in the last outing. Declan Rice and Tomas Soucek are set to return to the match-day squad.

Team News

Alejandro Garnacho may return to the Man United squad for their upcoming match, as the young player has returned to first-team training after an ankle injury. However, Lisandro Martinez, Donny van de Beek, Scott McTominay, Raphael Varane and Tom Heaton will still be unavailable for selection. Manager Ten Hag is anticipated to adjust the team that played against the Seagulls. Jadon Sancho and Christian Eriksen may replace Anthony Martial and Fred, respectively, and Marcel Sabitzer could be considered for a midfield role.

West Ham will be looking to have an entire squad as Declan Rice, Tomas Soucek, and Nayef Aguerd are set to return after missing out due to illness in their previous game against Man City. On the other hand, Vladimir Coufal suffered a hamstring injury and will not be playing, while Gianluca Scamacca and Kurt Zouma are also out of the squad against Ten Hag’s side. It is expected that Said Benrahma could replace Pablo Fornals in the attacking position.
