Manchester United clashed heads with Brighton and Hove Albion at the American Express Community Stadium earlier tonight as they hoped to secure a positive result on the road in the Premier League. The Red Devils made a decent start to the game but were toothless in the final third as they went into the half-time interval with a goalless scoreline.

Both teams cancelled each other out in the second half but the Red Devils conceded a late penalty when Luke Shaw handled the ball inside his penalty box. Alexis Mac Allister ended up converting from the spot in injury-time as the contest finished with Man United suffering a narrow 1-0 loss away from home.

Let’s take a look at how each Manchester United player fared during the match against the Seagulls.

GK: David de Gea – 7/10

The Spanish keeper made a handful of world-class saves at the back but couldn’t do much about Mac Allister’s injury-time penalty.

RB: Aaron Wan-Bissaka – 6/10

He did his fair share of defending but offered very little going forward.

CB: Victor Lindelof – 6.5/10

Lindelof defended his penalty box with conviction for most of the game but won’t be pleased after conceding a late goal.

CB: Luke Shaw – 5/10

Shaw was solid at the back for most of the contest. However, he cost his team the result after committing two consecutive errors of judgment late in the game.

LB: Diogo Dalot – 6.5/10

Dalot performed his defensive duties well but struggled to influence the game in the opponent’s half.

CM: Casemiro – 6.5/10

Casemiro got stuck in with a lot of crunching tackles and made one key chance in the final third.

CM: Fred – 7/10

The Brazilian talent worked hard and was a positive influence at both ends of the field.

RW: Antony – 6.5/10

Antony showed some signs of promise but lost his head in key moments and lacked quality in front of the Brighton goal.

CAM: Bruno Fernandes – 7/10

The Portugal international created plenty of decent chances for his teammates but failed to register a goal.

LW: Marcus Rashford – 7.5/10

Rashford was a constant menace in the final third but struggled to finish off his chances.

ST: Anthony Martial – 6.5/10

He had a few bright moments in the game but there was no goal for him tonight.

Substitutes:

CAM: Marcel Sabitzer – 6.5/10

He added some energy to Man United’s attack.

LW: Jadon Sancho – 6/10

Sancho struggled to get into the flow of the game.

ST: Wout Weghorst – N/A

He hardly had any time to make an impact.
