Manchester City entertained Leeds United at the Etihad Stadium earlier today as they looked to grab all three points at home in the Premier League. Pep Guardiola‘s men made a quick start to the game and got their noses ahead in the 19th minute when Ilkay Gundogan scored with a good finish. Gundogan doubled his side’s advantage just eight minutes later with another solid strike. Man City went into the half-time break with a 2-0 lead.
Gundogan missed a penalty in the second half before Rodrigo Moreno got a goal back for Leeds in the 85th minute. Guardiola’s players managed to see out the game and earned a narrow 2-1 win in front of their home fans.

GK: Ederson – 6/10
The Brazilian keeper made one solid save during the game but couldn’t do much about Rodrigo’s finish late in the game.
CB: Manuel Akanji – 6/10
Akanji tried to keep things solid defensively but had some nervy moments at the back.
CB: Aymeric Laporte – 6.5/10
He didn’t do much wrong when defending inside his half but won’t be happy about conceding a late goal.
CB: Nathan Ake – 7/10
Ake did his fair share of defending and was accurate with his passing. He got replaced in the 53rd minute.
CM: Rico Lewis – 7/10
He had a few bright moments at the centre of the park and made one key chance in the final third.
CM: Ilkay Gundogan – 8.5/10
Gundogan was a constant menace in the Leeds half and scored a quick-fire brace in the first half. However, he missed a penalty in the second.
RW: Riyad Mahrez – 8/10
He caused all sorts of problems for the opposition defenders and has got a couple of assists to show for his efforts.
CM: Julian Alvarez – 7/10
Alvarez made some dangerous runs with the ball but failed to register a goal.
CM: Kevin De Bruyne – 8/10
The Belgian talent earned the ball back twice and made some inviting chances for his teammates in the final third.
LW: Phil Foden – 7.5/10
Foden caused some headaches for the Leeds defenders but there was no goal for him today.
ST: Erling Haaland – 7/10
Haaland was a real threat inside the opponent’s penalty box and was unfortunate to hit the crossbar.
