Liverpool will face off against league leaders Arsenal as they welcome them to Anfield on Sunday for this Premier League clash. The Reds recorded a lacklustre draw against Chelsea in their last outing, so they would be desperate for three points in this weekend’s encounter.

Jurgen Klopp will set his side up in a 4-3-3 formation and could make a couple of changes to the starting XI for this game. Cody Gakpo and Mohamed Salah will play from the start of this contest, while Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andrew Robertson return to the backline.

Defence

Alisson Becker will continue to function in goal for the Merseyside giants after keeping a clean sheet in his last league appearance. Ibrahima Konate will operate alongside Virgil Van Dijk at the centre of the Liverpool backline as they focus on stopping the Arsenal attackers from scoring this weekend.

Trent Alexander-Arnold will return as the right-back, while Andrew Robertson operates as the left-back. Both of them will have to defend their lines well and also create some decent goal-scoring chances from the wide areas.

Kostas Tsimikas and Joel Matip will be available for selection on the bench as they offer cover for the defensive positions.

Midfield

Jordan Henderson, Fabinho and Harvey Elliott will make up Liverpool’s midfield as they look to establish their superiority over the opposition at the centre of the park.

Both Henderson and Elliott have to find a way to engineer a few promising chances for the Reds in the final third.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will be named on the bench and might come on to influence the game in the second 45 minutes if Klopp decides to call upon his services.

Attack

Darwin Nunez will continue as the left-sided wide player, while Mohamed Salah hopes to be productive on the right flank.

As mentioned earlier, Cody Gakpo will lead the charge for the Merseyside club in the final third. The Dutch forward has to find a way to cause a few headaches for the North London defenders.

Diogo Jota will be available for selection on the bench as he waits for his chance to shine in the latter stages of the game if required.
