Chelsea will take on Brighton & Hove Albion as they welcome them to Stamford Bridge, looking to pick up all three points from this contest. The Blues come into the match on the back of a disappointing 2-0 first-leg defeat against Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League quarter-final, so they will need to bounce back and find their footing in this Premier League match-up.

Frank Lampard will probably opt for a 4-3-3 formation and is expected to make a host of changes to the starting XI. Kai Havertz, Mason Mount, Conor Gallagher, and Mykhailo Mudryk are all pushing for a start this weekend.

Defence

Kepa Arrizabalaga will feature between the sticks for the Blues after conceding two goals in his last outing against Madrid. Benoit Badiashile and Wesley Fofana could form a customary centre-half partnership for this game as they try to keep the opposition attackers at bay throughout the game.

Ben Chilwell will keep his spot on the left flank while Reece James looks to give a good account of himself as the right wing-back. Both of them will get the freedom to express themselves in the opponent’s half.

Trevoh Chalobah will be available for selection on the bench as he provides cover for the defensive positions.

Midfield

Mason Mount, Enzo Fernandez and Conor Gallagher will operate in the middle of the park as they focus on dominating possession and orchestrating some decent chances in the final third.

Christian Pulisic, Mateo Kovacic and N’Golo Kante will be named on the bench and might come on to influence the game in the second 45 minutes if required.

Attack

Mykhailo Mudryk will get the chance to impress from the left-wing position, while Raheem Sterling looks to be productive from the right flank.

Kai Havertz will lead the line for the West London club on the attacking third of the pitch. This could be an ideal opportunity for the German forward to get some confidence back in his game.

Joao Felix will have to be content with a place on the bench as he awaits his chance to make an impact in the latter stages if needed.
