Arsenal welcomed Manchester City at the Emirates Stadium earlier tonight as they hoped to secure maximum points at home in the Premier League. The Gunners made a bright start to the game but conceded the opening goal in the 24th minute when Kevin De Bruyne pounced on Takehiro Tomiyasu’s mistake to score with a good finish. However, the North London club responded courtesy of Bukayo Saka’s penalty in the 42nd minute as the two teams went into the half-time interval with a 1-1 scoreline.

The Gunners conceded their second goal in the 72nd minute when Jack Grealish scored with a clinical finish. Erling Haaland ended up killing the game off just ten minutes later as Arsenal crashed to a disappointing 3-1 loss in front of their home fans.

Let’s take a look at how each Arsenal player fared during the match against Manchester City.

GK: Aaron Ramsdale – 6/10

He made a few solid saves at the back but still ended up shipping in three goals tonight.

RB: Takehiro Tomiyasu – 5/10

Tomiyasu made a poor mistake to gift Kevin De Bruyne the opening goal. He looked shaky when defending inside his half all throughout the game.

CB: William Saliba – 6/10

The Frenchman made some crucial defensive contributions and was a dominant presence in the air.

CB: Gabriel – 6/10

Gabriel tried to keep Haaland quiet but lost most of his battles with the Norwegian striker in the second half.

LB: Oleksandr Zinchenko – 6/10

He worked hard defensively and had a couple bright moments in the opponent’s half.

CM: Martin Odegaard – 5.5/10

Odegaard struggled to get a foohold in the game and produced an uninspiring display for Arsenal at the centre of the park.

CM: Jorginho – 7/10

The Italy international anchored the midfield well at times and was a good presence on the ball as well.

CM: Granit Xhaka – 6/10

Xhaka made some important defensive contributions but lacked the cutting edge in the Man City half.

RW: Bukayo Saka – 7/10

Saka caused a few headaches for the opposition defenders and got his name on the scoresheet from the penalty spot in the 42nd minute.

ST: Eddie Nketiah – 6/10

He wasted a few decent chances to find the back of the net and did well to last the whole game.

LW: Gabriel Martinelli – 6.5/10

Martinelli made a few good runs with the ball and engineered one key chance in the final third.

Substitutes:

LW: Leandro Trossard – 6/10

He made one good chance in the opposition half.

CM: Fabio Vieira – N/A

Vieira hardly had any time to influence the game.

RB: Ben White – N/A

He came on for the final few minutes of the contest.
