West Ham United travel to North London to face Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday hoping to secure all three points in this away encounter. The Hammers come into the match on the back of a 1-1 draw against Chelsea in their last outing, so we can expect them to give out a better performance in this weekend’s contest.

David Moyes will be forced to opt for a 3-4-2-1 formation as he remains without the services of Kurt Zouma while Aaron Cresswell and Nayef Aguerd remain doubtful with a late fitness test pending to confirm their return.

Defence

Lukasz Fabianski will continue to feature in between the sticks for the Hammers after conceding one goal versus the Blues in his last outing. Ben Johnson, Angelo Ogbonna and Thilo Kehrer will make up West Ham’s back three as they focus on stopping Spurs from creating too many chances on the counter. All three of them need to be at the top of their game if the East London club are to secure a clean sheet this weekend.

As mentioned earlier, Aaron Cresswell could be available for selection on the bench if he recovers from his illness but Nayef Aguerd remains a doubt with an abductor strain.

Midfield

Declan Rice and Lucas Paqueta will anchor the midfield for West Ham as they try to make life difficult for the opposition at the centre of the park.

Emerson Palmieri could get another chance to shine as the left-sided wing-back while Vladimir Coufal hopes to impress on the right flank.

Said Benrahma and Jarrod Bowen will get the freedom to play as the free-flowing attacking midfielders in the opponent’s half. Both of them need to find a way to create some clear-cut goal-scoring chances on the attacking third of the pitch.

Pablo Fornals, Manuel Lanzini and Tomas Soucek will be named on the bench and might come on to make an impact in the second half if required.

Attack

Michail Antonio will spearhead David Moyes’ attack on his own up top. The Jamaican striker would fancy his chances of finding the back of the net and getting his name on the scoresheet in this weekend’s contest.

Gianluca Scamacca remains sidelined because of a knee problem alongside Danny Ings and Gianluca Scamacca so Moyes will be short on attacking options on the bench.
