Tottenham Hotspur will face off against Newcastle United as they welcome them to North London this Sunday hoping to bounce back from their recent defeat. The Lilywhites suffered a disappointing 2-0 defeat at the hands of Manchester United, so they will be hungry to return to winning ways.
Antonio Conte will opt for a 3-5-2 formation once again and we should expect to see the same starting XI in this home encounter. Heung-Min Son and Harry Kane will form a two-man strike team to lead the charge against the Magpies while Richarlison and Dejan Kulusevski remain sidelined due to injury.
3-5-2 Tottenham Hotspur Predicted XI Vs Newcastle United
Defence
Hugo Lloris will feature in between the sticks for Spurs after conceding two goals in his last league appearance despite giving out a strong performance. Cristian Romero, Eric Dier and Ben Davies will feature at the heart of Tottenham’s defence as they try and stop the opposition from causing too many problems throughout the game.
Davinson Sanchez will provide cover for the centre-back positions as he takes his spot on the bench.
Midfield
Pierre-Emile Højbjerg, Yves Bissouma and Rodrigo Bentancur will anchor the midfield for the North London club as they try to dominate possession at the centre of the park. All three of them will have to work hard collectively if Spurs are to come out on top in this home encounter.
Ivan Perisic will continue as the left-sided wing-back while Matt Doherty focuses on putting an influential display on the right flank. Both of them will have to do their fair share of defending and going forward to create plenty of opportunities from the wide areas.
Oliver Skipp will take a spot on the bench as he waits for his opportunity to impress in the midfield areas if needed.
Attack
As mentioned earlier, Harry Kane will once again spearhead Conte’s attack alongside Heung-min Son in the front. Both of them would be eager to get their name on the scoresheet this time around. Kane has been in a good run of form at the moment so he will fancy his chances of finding the back of the net in this home encounter.
Richarlison is unlikely to be ready in time for this clash. Furthermore, Dejan Kulusevski is also in the treatment room ahead of this game as he is still recovering from a thigh problem so Lucas Moura could get a chance to impress in the second half if needed.
