Southampton will entertain Arsenal at St. Mary’s Stadium this Sunday as both sides hope to pick up all three points in the Premier League. The Gunners recorded a narrow 1-0 win against Leeds United in their last fixture. Similarly, the Saints also come into the match on the back of a hard-fought 1-0 victory against Bournemouth in their last league outing.

Arsenal Vs Southampton: Talking Tactics

Mikel Arteta would probably opt for the 4-2-3-1 formation and he is expected to make a couple of changes as Martin Odegaard will return to take his spot in the midfield alongside Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Jesus who will also return to the starting XI.

Ralph Hasenhuttl could set his side up in a 4-4-2 formation allowing Adam Armstrong and Che Adams to continue as a two-man strike team in the frontline while James Ward-Prowse and Ibrahima Diallo retain their places in the midfield.

The latter remains doubtful of the two as he recovers from injury. Meanwhile, Emile Smith Rowe (groin) and Mohamed Elneny (thigh) have been ruled out for the long term. Otherwise, Arteta has no fresh injury concerns to deal with this weekend.
