Southampton will entertain Manchester United at St. Mary’s Stadium on Saturday afternoon as both sides look to get the best of each other in the Premier League. The Saints managed to secure a 3-0 win over Cambridge United in midweek. Similarly, Man United earned an impressive 2-1 win over Liverpool last Monday night, so we can expect an entertaining contest with the two teams both going all out in search of the three points.

Ralph Hasenhüttl could choose to set his team up in a 4-3-3 formation and will instruct his players to dominate the ball and engineer some decent chances in the final third.

Erik ten Hag will opt for a 4-2-3-1 formation and is expected to ask his men to keep a solid defensive shape at the back and try to hurt Southampton on the counter using the pace of Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Jadon Sancho.

Manchester United

Facundo Pellistri and Victor Lindelof will be sidelined for this match due to injury. Still, ten Hag should have a strong squad to choose from this Saturday afternoon.

Manchester United Predicted XI

De Gea, Dalot, Varane, Martinez, Malacia, McTominay, Eriksen, Sancho, Fernandes, Rashford, Martial

Key Men

Southampton

Che Adams has begun this campaign well and will have to carry most of the goal-scoring burden for Southampton up top.

The midfield trio of James Ward-Prowse, Romeo Lavia and Mohamed Elyounoussi need to be at the top of their game if the Saints are to come out on top this weekend.

Manchester United

Both Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford managed to find the back of the net versus Liverpool and will be expected to do the same this Saturday.

David de Gea might need to make a few good saves if Man United are to grind out a win on their travels.
