Chelsea Are Keeping Tabs On Bellingham: Should The Blues Go For Him This Summer?

In a recent report, Fussballdaten claimed that Chelsea are keeping tabs on Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jobe Bellingham. It has been mentioned that the Blues are eyeing a move to acquire the services of the English talent this summer.

Bellingham’s Impressive Form In The Bundesliga

Bellingham has enjoyed a good run of form at the German club as he has been responsible for putting in a run of impressive performances for them at the centre of the park. The 20-year-old has secured four assists in 42 matches for Borussia Dortmund this season across all competitions.

The talented midfielder is currently one of the most gifted young playmakers in the Bundesliga. Therefore, Chelsea would do well to get a deal done for him in this summer transfer window.

His current contract at the German club will run out in the summer of 2030, which could make it tough for the Blues to sign him on the cheap this off-season.

Should Chelsea Go For Bellingham?

Bellingham is a good tackler of the ball and can read the danger well to earn possession back for his team inside his half. He doesn’t mind putting his foot through the ball when needed and has got the vision to create some inviting chances for his teammates to score.

The English sensation can even make some driving runs with the ball from midfield and can shoot it with venom from long range. Bellingham mainly operates as a box-to-box midfielder but can also serve as a defensive midfielder or play in the number ten position if asked to do so by his manager. However, there are some concerns over whether he can make a smooth transition to life in the Premier League.

We can expect Bellingham to bring more quality and depth to Chelsea‘s midfield department. He is good enough to challenge for a regular starting place at Stamford Bridge in the coming seasons.

At 20, the future looks quite bright for Bellingham as long as he continues to improve with each year. He will also help the West London club compete across all fronts in the future. All in all, Chelsea would be wise to go for a player of his quality and potential in this upcoming transfer period.
