Manchester United locked horns with Burnley at Turf Moor earlier tonight as they hoped to pick up a good result on their travels. The Red Devils were dominant in the first half and took the lead in the 18th minute when Paul Pogba scored with a decent finish. Man United controlled the game well and went into the half-time interval 1-0 up on the scoreline.

Jay Rodriguez scored the all-important equaliser for the Clarets just two minutes into the second half. Ralf Rangnick’s men failed to be decisive in the final third and were held to a frustrating 1-1 draw away at Lancashire.

Let’s take a look at how each Man United player performed during the match against the Clarets.

GK: David de Gea – 6.5/10

The Spanish keeper made a couple of good saves but couldn’t do much about Rodriguez’s goal in the second half.

RB: Diogo Dalot – 7/10

He was solid at the back and made two good chances in the final third.

CB: Raphael Varane – 6.5/10

Varane cleared the danger when needed but couldn’t command the game the way he would have liked in the second half.

CB: Harry Maguire – 6/10

He made a good start to the game but was too slow to react to the danger at times in the second 45 minutes

LB: Luke Shaw – 7/10

The English left-back got stuck in with a couple of tackles and engineered a few promising opportunities for his teammates to score.

CM: Paul Pogba – 7.5/10

Pogba was a constant threat going forward but didn’t track back to defend when required.

CM: Scott McTominay – 7/10

He anchored the midfield on his own and offered very little in the Burnley half.

RW: Marcus Rashford – 7/10

Rashford showed a few flashes of his brilliance but lacked the cutting edge in front of the opponent’s goal.

CAM: Bruno Fernandes – 7.5/10

The Portugal international caused all sorts of problems for the Burnley defenders but didn’t do enough to register a goal.

LW: Jadon Sancho – 6/10

He fashioned some meaningful openings for his teammates but there was no goal for him tonight.

ST: Edinson Cavani – 6/10

Expect for a few bright moments, Cavani was mostly ineffective during his time on the field.

Substitutes:

ST: Cristiano Ronaldo – 6/10

Ronaldo wasted a couple of decent chances to find the back of the net.

CAM: Jesse Lingard – 6/10

His impact on the game was minimal.

LW: Anthony Elanga – N/A

He hardly had any time to influence the game.
