Liverpool welcomed Leeds United at Anfield earlier tonight as they looked to pick up all three points and close the gap to Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table. The Reds made a bright start to the game and got their noses ahead in the 15th minute courtesy of Mohamed Salah’s penalty. Joel Matip doubled Liverpool’s advantage at the half-hour mark when he finished off an excellent team move with a superb finish. Salah struck again from the penalty spot just five minutes later as the Merseyside outfit cruised to a 3-0 lead at the half-time break.

Sadio Mane got his name on the scoresheet in the 80th minute and went on to score again just ten minutes later. Virgil Van Dijk put the icing on the cake for Liverpool with a great header in injury-time as the match finished 6-0 in favour of Jurgen Klopp’s men.

Let’s take a look at how each Liverpool player performed during the match against the Whites.

GK: Alisson Becker – 6.5/10

The Brazilian keeper had one nervy moment in the first half. However, he made two good saves in the game and secured an easy clean sheet at home.

RB: Trent Alexander-Arnold – 7.5/10

He was solid at the back and engineered a couple of decent chances in the final third.

CB: Joel Matip – 8/10

Matip kept the Leeds attackers quiet for most of the game and was quite lively with the ball at his feet. He finished off a superb team goal in the 30th minute with a fine finish.

CB: Virgil Van Dijk – 8.5/10

The Dutch centre-back bossed the game from the back and got himself a late goal with a powerful header from close range.
