In a recent report, Calciomercato stated that Everton have set their sights on VfL Wolfsburg midfielder Aster Vranckx. It has been claimed that the Toffees are hoping to seal a move for the Belgian midfield ace during the summer transfer window.

Vranckx’s Decent Season In German Football

Vranckx is having a good season at the Volkswagen Arena but has struggled to be consistent with his productivity in the final third. The 19-year-old has played in 18 matches for the German outfit this season, netting two goals in the process across various competitions.

The talented teenager has made an impact at both ends of the field as he is averaging 1.6 tackles, 0.7 interceptions, 0.7 clearances, 1.4 shots, 0.7 key passes and 0.8 dribbles per 90 minutes in the Premier League. He has even been tidy when distributing the ball from the back based on his pass success rate of 79.9% in league football (stats via whoscored).

What Will Vranckx Add To Everton Boss Frank Lampard’s Team?

Vranckx can do a little bit of everything at the centre of the park. He loves a tackle and can offer decent defensive cover for his teammates at the back. The Belgian youngster doesn’t shy away from having a strike at goal and can keep the ball moving quite well in midfield.

At 19, Vranckx has got a very bright future ahead of him, so Everton head coach Frank Lampard should think about going all out to secure his signature in the summer.

We can expect Vranckx to add a lot of energy and dynamism to Lampard’s midfield. More importantly, he could propel the Toffees towards challenging for a top-six spot in the Premier League over the next decade.

Recruiting Vranckx will be a great, long-term move by the Merseyside outfit as long as they are planning to give him enough opportunities to be a success story at Goodison Park. The Wolfsburg whizkid is still quite raw and might need time to adapt to life in English football. Still, there is no denying that he has the makings of a top talent and might go on to enjoy his time under Lampard’s stewardship in the coming seasons.
