Liverpool welcomed Leeds United at Anfield earlier tonight as they looked to pick up all three points and close the gap to Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table. The Reds made a bright start to the game and got their noses ahead in the 15th minute courtesy of Mohamed Salah’s penalty. Joel Matip doubled Liverpool’s advantage at the half-hour mark when he finished off an excellent team move with a superb finish. Salah struck again from the penalty spot just five minutes later as the Merseyside outfit cruised to a 3-0 lead at the half-time break.
Sadio Mane got his name on the scoresheet in the 80th minute and went on to score again just ten minutes later. Virgil Van Dijk put the icing on the cake for Liverpool with a great header in injury-time as the match finished 6-0 in favour of Jurgen Klopp’s men.
