Leicester City are finding life quite difficult in the Premier League at the moment, having started their campaign on a disappointing note this season. They have managed to win only one match so far out of their first seven encounters this season and are currently on the brink of entering the dreaded zone of relegation, standing right in the 17th position in the league table.

The Foxes have found it difficult to keep possession of the ball an the heart of the midfield and have faltered on a number of occasions to build up a good move from the back. This has called in for the need to add some new players to the squad, especially someone relatively experienced, who will be able to marshal the midfield and help smoothen the transition from midfield to their attack.

Leicester City are keen on a number of players to fill in for the spot of a central midfielder who will be able to give them that much-needed stability at the heart of the pitch.

And according to reports, the former Premier League Champions are keeping tabs on one of the most experienced players in the form of former Liverpool and Chelsea ace Raul Meireles. Reports claim that the Foxes are one of many clubs interested in bringing him back to the English top flight.

The 34-year-old, who spent a significant time of his career playing for the Merseyside and the West London club, is presently a free agent and might be eager to head back to England in the future. He was plying his trade in the Super Lig for Fenerbahce and was released at the end of the last term by the Turkish giants.

Having played for some of the top clubs in Europe throughout his career, the ex-Portuguese international made his mark in the Premier League for the Reds, having made 44 appearances for them before moving to their rivals from London, Chelsea.

He played 59 matches for them and was a part of their Champions League winning side in 2012. Unfortunately, he was offloaded in the summer and went on to join Fenerbahce.

The player has ample experience in the Premier League and can be a good addition for the Foxes. They are hopeful that the veteran enforcer will be able to pull some tricks from under his sleeve, helping them revive their season.

He is a wanted man at the moment and will not be easy to prise away. So can Leicester City sign Meireles?
