Arsenal have started to bring in players already this summer to strengthen their squad for the next season, their latest signing being the influential left-back Sead Kolasinac from German side Schalke, that too on a free transfer, in order to boost their defence, which has been a reason of major concern for their head coach Arsene Wenger in the last season.
The Frenchman, having signed a new two-year deal to stay back at the Emirates Stadium for some more time, looks determined to make amends for the disappointing season last term, which saw his side finish outside the top four in the Premier League for the first time since 1998.
Reportedly, the North London club is looking for a good central midfielder, despite the fact that they already have a decent one in the form of Granit Xhaka, who has come of age in the last season and showed his true worth as an enforcer. The Gunners feel they might have found the right player who can perfectly fit their bill in the 19-year-old midfielder Sander Berge.
The teenage sensation has shown his mettle in the last season for his club Genk and is termed as one of the players to have a very bright future in European football. Berge plays for Norway and has already earned three caps for the senior side. He has been in brilliant form last season for his Belgian club and has become an integral part of the side, having made 15 appearances in the top flight for them already, including appearances in the Europa League as well.
Berge prefers playing more as a defensive midfielder and has been one of the most highly rated players in European football, having attracted a lot of attention from a number of big clubs including the likes of Everton. The Toffees have reportedly looked at the teenager in the last season as well when he was playing for the Norwegian side Valeranga FC and are in close competition with the Gunners to bag him this summer.
Sander Berge is known for his dedicated presence in the centre of the midfield, trying to dominate the proceedings and keeping possession of the ball for a significant period of time. The teenager has reportedly been the centre of attention in the transfer window for Spanish La Liga side Sevilla and current French Ligue 1 champions Monaco as well, who want him to be a part of their squad in the next term. So should Wenger go all out for him?
