Manchester City faced off against Everton at Goodison Park earlier today as they hoped to earn a good result on the road and take one step closer to the Premier League title. Pep Guardiola‘s men made a bright start to the contest and got their noses ahead in the 37th-minute courtesy of Ilkay Gundogan’s superb finish. Erling Haaland doubled Man City’s advantage just two minutes later as they went into the half-time break with a healthy 2-0 lead.
Gundogan scored again for the visitors in the 51st minute with an excellent freekick as the match finished 3-0 in favour of Man City.

The Brazilian keeper made a few important saves at the back and earned a well-deserved clean sheet away from home.
RB: Kyle Walker – 7.5/10
He performed his defensive duties well and managed to make one positive run on the right flank.
CB: Ruben Dias – 7.5/10
Dias dealt with the danger when required and secured a crucial clean sheet away at Merseyside.
CB: Aymeric Laporte – 7/10
He didn’t hesitate to put his foot through the ball when the opposition were on the front foot. Laporte was good on the ball as well.
LB: Manuel Akanji – 7/10
Akanji didn’t do much wrong at the back but offered very little going forward.
CM: Rodri – 7.5/10
The Spaniard protected his backline well and was a positive influence in the opponent’s half.
CM: Ilkay Gundogan – 9/10
Gundogan was a constant menace in the final third and scored two fine goals to make a real difference for his team. He also picked up an assist for setting up Haaland’s goal.
RW: Riyad Mahrez – 7.5/10
He caused a lot of chaos in and around the Everton penalty box and has got an assist to show for his efforts.
CAM: Julian Alvarez – 6/10
Alvarez struggled to get into the flow of the game and did well to last the whole 90 minutes.
LW: Phil Foden – 7/10
He made a few promising runs with the ball but there was no goal for him today.
ST: Erling Haaland – 7.5/10
The Norway international showed a few glimpses of what he is capable of and managed to get his name on the scoresheet with a good finish in the 39th minute.
