Newcastle United welcomed Fulham at St. James’ Park earlier today as they hoped to secure a positive result at home in the Premier League. The Magpies made a decent start to the game but were held to a scoreless draw at the half-time break.
The Tyneside outfit tried their best to net the winner and finally managed to score in the 89th-minute courtesy of Alexander Isak’s effort. The contest ended with Newcastle securing a narrow 1-0 victory in front of their home fans.

Botman didn’t do much wrong at the back and was strong in the air.

Burn was defensively solid and made one good run with the ball. However, he struggled to influence the game in the opponent’s half.

He anchored the midfield well and orchestrated some decent chances for his teammates to find the back of the net.
CM: Bruno Guimaraes – 6.5/10
Guimaraes earned the ball back twice and made one good chance going forward.
CM: Joe Willock – 6.5/10
Willock had a few bright moments in the game but lacked quality in the final third.
RW: Miguel Almiron – 7/10
He was a positive influence at both ends of the field and got replaced in the 84th minute.
ST: Callum Wilson – 7.5/10
The English striker caused all kinds of problems for the opposition defenders and picked up an assist for setting up Isak’s goal.
LW: Joelinton – 7.5/10
He came back to defend when needed and had a couple of lively moments in the final third.
