Newcastle United welcomed Chelsea at St. James’ Park earlier today as they looked to earn a victory in front of their home fans in the Premier League. The Magpies made a bright start to the game but were held to a scoreless draw at half-time.
The Tyneside outfit began the second half well and got their noses ahead in the 67th minute when Joe Willock found the back of the net with a sublime strike. The contest ended with Newcastle hanging on to secure a brilliant 1-0 win at home.

Longstaff worked hard for his side but struggled to get a foothold in the game.

The Brazilian sensation performed his defensive duties well but lacked quality in the Chelsea half.
CM: Joe Willock – 8/10
Willock did his fair share of defending and scored the only goal of the game with an excellent finish.
RW: Miguel Almiron – 7/10
He had a few bright moments in the game and picked up an assist for setting up Willock’s goal.
ST: Chris Wood – 6.5/10
Wood struggled to get into the flow of the game but managed to impress at times during the game.
LW: Joelinton – 7/10
He produced a tireless shift at both ends of the field and filled in as a central midfielder towards the latter stages of the contest.
