Chelsea clashed heads with Newcastle United at St. James’ Park earlier this evening as they focused on collecting all three points on the road. The Blues were solid in the first half and managed to get to the half-time interval with a goalless scoreline.

The Tyneside club scored the opening goal in the 67th minute courtesy of Joe Willock’s excellent strike. The West London club failed to mount a comeback and crashed to a poor 1-0 loss away from home.

Let’s take a look at how each Chelsea player fared during the clash against the Magpies.

GK: Edouard Mendy – 6/10

Mendy made a couple of decent saves at the back but couldn’t do much about Willock’s finish.

CB: Cesar Azpilicueta – 6.5/10

He produced a solid defensive display in the first half but got replaced at half-time.

CB: Trevoh Chalobah – 6.5/10

Chalobah did his fair share of defending but failed to keep a clean sheet in the end.

CB: Kalidou Koulibaly – 6/10

Koulibaly cleared the danger when needed but struggled to keep the Newcastle attackers quiet.

RAM: Conor Gallagher – 6.5/10

Gallagher worked hard in both halves but failed to register a goal this evening.

LAM: Mason Mount – 6/10

The English attacker struggled to get himself involved in the game.

ST: Armando Broja – 6/10

Broja had a few lively moments in the game and was tidy with his passing. However, he once again failed to find the back of the net.

CB: Thiago Silva – 7/10

The Brazilian defender tried his best to keep things solid at the back after coming on in the sixth minute.

LAM: Christian Pulisic – 6/10

He made two good runs but didn’t get a sniff at goal.

The German sensation had some heated exchanges with the opposition but never looked like he would score.
