Newcastle United welcomed Chelsea at St. James’ Park earlier today as they looked to earn a victory in front of their home fans in the Premier League. The Magpies made a bright start to the game but were held to a scoreless draw at half-time.

The Tyneside outfit began the second half well and got their noses ahead in the 67th minute when Joe Willock found the back of the net with a sublime strike. The contest ended with Newcastle hanging on to secure a brilliant 1-0 win at home.

Let’s take a look at how each Newcastle United player fared during the match against the Blues.

The English keeper made a couple of decent saves at the back and earned an important clean sheet this evening.

RB: Kieran Trippier – 7.5/10

CB: Fabian Schar – 7/10

He cleared the danger when required and was a threat at the other end of the pitch as well.

CB: Sven Botman – 7/10

Botman earned the ball back twice and did enough to keep the Chelsea attackers frustrated.
