The Ibrox crowd greeted their heroes when Rangers hosted Ross County this afternoon in a Premiership encounter. The spirit was high after making it to the Champions League group stages by defeating PSV on Wednesday night and Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s juggernaut maintained the momentum by scripting a comfortable 4-0 victory in their own backyard.
Below are the Rangers players rated in their commanding win against Ross County.
Jon McLaughlin: 7
Another clean sheet for the Scotsman as the Staggies failed to test him at all between the sticks.
James Tavernier: 8
Excellent down the right with his marauding runs. Hit the woodwork once but set it up for Steven Davis who made it 4-0 late in the game.
Connor Goldson: 7.5
Showed his composure with the ball on his feet. Played it out from the back to build up moves and was denied by Ross Laidlaw a couple of times.
James Sands: 7
Dominated the aerial duels, but the USMNT international looked a bit rusty with his tackles. Made way for Leon King at half-time.
Borna Barisic: 8
Was relentless from the left with his overlapping runs, long balls and crosses. Linked up well with Ryan Kent as the duo kept causing menace in Ross County’s defence.
John Lundstram: 8
His deflected effort earned the hosts a lead midway through the first half. Was combative in the centre of the pitch even though he lost the majority of duels during the game.
Tom Lawrence: 7.5
Operated from a slightly deeper role, but the Welshman showed his quality with driving runs and attacking threats. Got dispossessed a few times which could have led to trouble against the run of play.
Scott Wright: 8
Set it up for Colak who scored spectacularly at the back-end of the first half. His crosses were not accurate on all occasions, but his runs and directness helped the Light Blues create threats in the Staggies box.
Malik Tillman: 7.5
His creative spark was pivotal in the build-up of many Rangers’ moves. Had a couple of efforts denied by Laidlaw before making way for Scott Arfield midway through the second half.
Ryan Kent: 8.5
Ruthless from the left as he registered a couple of assists this afternoon. Created the most number of chances, but his attempts were wide of the target yet again. Was replaced by Rabbi Matondo around the hour mark.
Antonio Colak: 9
Continues his stellar scoring streak with a brace. Was a constant threat high up the pitch due to his positioning and poaching instinct. Was taken off for Steven Davis with 20 minutes remaining.
