Arsenal Are Among The Clubs Monitoring The Progress Of This Atletico Madrid Star: Should Arteta Go For Him?

In a recent report, Fichajes revealed that Arsenal are among the clubs monitoring the progress of Atletico Madrid star Julian Alvarez. It has been stated that the Gunners are facing stiff competition from Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain in the race to land the Argentine talent this summer.

Alvarez’s Impressive Form In La Liga

Alvarez has enjoyed a good run of form at the Madrid club this season as he has been responsible for producing a series of impressive displays for them in the final third. The 26-year-old has banged in 20 goals and grabbed nine assists in 49 matches for Atletico Madrid in this campaign across multiple competitions.

The Argentine talent is currently one of the best strikers in La Liga. Therefore, it is no surprise that the Gunners are in the running to sign him this off-season.

Alvarez is under contract at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium until the summer of 2030, which could make it tough for Arsenal to sign him on the cheap later this year.

Should Arsenal Boss Mikel Arteta Go For Alvarez?

Alvarez is proficient at finding a yard of space for himself to get some strikes in at goal. He has got the vision to create some decent chances for his teammates in the final third and is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet.

The Argentina international can contribute by scoring and creating a handful of important goals for his team up top. Alvarez is primarily a centre-forward but can also fill in as a winger on either flank if required. He already knows the Premier League well from his time at Man City and won’t take much time to adjust to life at the North London club.

Alvarez would bring more pace and goals to Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta’s frontline. He has what it takes to fight for a regular first-team spot at the Emirates Stadium next season.

At 26, Alvarez has his best years ahead of him, which makes him a worthy target for the Gunners to pursue at the end of this campaign. He might even help the London outfit compete for some major honours in the coming years. Therefore, Arsenal should focus on going for a player of Alvarez’s quality this summer.
