Not the start everyone was expecting from Barcelona after the international break. They dropped two vital points in the La Liga as the match against Celta Vigo settled for a 2-2 draw. Leaking two goals in the dying minutes is never welcomed by the fans at all.
It will be tough to move on from such a performance and focus on their next game, which is scheduled against Brest in the Champions League. Hansi Flick’s side needs to show their character and prove that they have a champion mentality.
4-2-3-1 Barcelona Predicted Lineup Vs Brest
Defence
Inaki Pena made some brave saves in the first half only to see individual mistakes costly to the goals. He will be seen between the sticks for sure. Right-back Jules Kounde’s lack of focus somewhere cost Barcelona the points. However, he is unlikely to face heat in the form of dropping.
Hansi Flick has no concrete reason to alter anyone in the centre-back duo of Inigo Martinez and Pau Cubarsi. Both have been doing fantastic and would be expected the same this time around. Alejandro Balde is expected to be called back to feature as the left-back, replacing Gerard Martin.
Midfield
Marc Casado faced a red card in the previous game but that was in La Liga. He should be deployed in the middle of the park alongside Pedri. However, Gavi could be replaced by Frenkie de Jong as it will allow Barcelona to control the tempo of the game better.
Attack
Lamine Yamal will miss yet another match for Barcelona, which isn’t good news for sure. Dani Olmo is set to operate on the wings with Raphinha on the other end.
Robert Lewandowski continues to do the good work as the striker in the side.
Ronald Araujo, Ansu Fati, Andreas Christensen, Marc-Andre ter Stegen and Marc Bernal are confirmed absentees while Eric Garcia and Ferran Torres could make it into the squad.
