Manchester United new manager Ruben Amorim life at the Old Trafford commence with a draw. His side settled for a 1-1 draw with Ipswich Town on Sunday in the Premier League. While they started the game on a strong note, they couldn’t do the justice to the initial success.
It would be unfair to talk too much about Amorim’s tactics and changes this early. Hopefully things will get better from here for the Red Devils. For now, let’s take a look at the Manchester United player’s ratings for this game.
Andre Onana – 8/10
The goalkeeper did well to keep the scoreline tight. Without his saves, the English giant could’ve lost the game.
Noussair Mazraoui – 7/10
The defender applied his versatility and has adapted really well to the new formation of back three.
Matthijs de Ligt – 5/10
Not the display everyone would expect from the Dutchman. He needs to step up and showcase why he is still rated so highly.
Jonny Evans – 6/10
Good performance from Evans at the backline. He continues to be an important member of the squad.
Amad Diallo – 7/10
Got an assist to his name but struggled in the defensive phase. Expect him to do better with time in his new role.
Casemiro – 5/10
A bit slow on the ball. He might lose his spot in the coming weeks when other players return from injuries.
Christian Eriksen – 6/10
Eriksen’s creativity adds a lot of value to the side but he lacks physical input which is a big factor, especially in the English league.
Diogo Dalot – 5/10
Looked a bit uncomfortable in his new role. Might need some time to settle down well and start kicking his regular contributions.
Bruno Fernandes – 6/10
The skipper was instrumental in the creation of United’s only goal. However, he still has room to improve for sure.
Alejandro Garnacho – 5/10
The Argentine has lacked clinicalness in the final third though he tries to compensate that with his high work-rate.
Marcus Rashford – 6/10
Got an early goal but diminished as the game progressed. It will be interesting to watch how he flairs as a striker.
