Manchester United are preparing to host Liverpool at Old Trafford in the Premier League this weekend. It will be their first big test of the season. Erik Ten Hag’s men will be desperate to showcase their best game and send an indirect message to the rest of the teams.
The Red Devils faced a defeat in their last game when Brighton found the back of the net in the previous moments. Their 2-1 loss attracted severe criticism from all over the globe. They will have to work hard to change things around, especially against the Reds.
4-2-3-1 Manchester United Predicted Lineup vs Liverpool
Defence
Andre Onana couldn’t have done much for both the goals against Brighton. He will once again line up between the sticks. Summer signing Noussair Mazraoui was excellent last week and should be starting as the right-back.
While Lisandro Martinez continues to be an important link in the United’s defence, Matthijs de Ligt is expected to get his first start. He came off the bench in both games and didn’t commit a single mistake. It also means Harry Maguire will be sent to the bench. Diogo Dalot gets retained as a left full-back.
Midfield
No change in the middle of the park as the duo of Casemiro and Kobbie Mainoo remain intact. Manuel Ugarte is likely to get registered in time and make his debut coming off the bench.
Attack
Though Amad Diallo has done well, Alejandro Garnacho should be starting on the right flank. The latter was unlucky to not score in both games. An injury to Mason Mount means Bruno Fernandes will return to his original position.
Marcus Rashford hasn’t had any major impact yet but Ten Hag will prefer keeping him on the left wing. Joshua Zirkzee should be leading the offensive line.
