Everton will host Liverpool at Goodison Park in the Premier League this weekend. It will be a vital game for the former as they are still in danger of entering into the relegation zone. They are currently 16th in the points table with 30 points in their bag.
Though the Toffees have a cushion of five points, there are still five games to go. Anything can happen in these many games and hence, every game should be taken with utmost seriousness. Their recent 2-0 win against Nottingham Forest would have definitely given them a boost in confidence.
4-4-1-1 Everton Predicted Lineup Vs Liverpool
Defence
Jordan Pickford looked a bit shaky under pressure but did well to keep a clean sheet in the previous outing. He starts between the sticks again. Seamus Coleman is unlikely to feature due to a groin niggle. It means Ashley Young should be continued at the right full-back spot.
Vitalii Mykolenko and James Tarkowski are again forming the heart of the defence. It will be a good test for the defensive duo against the ruthless Liverpool attackers. Jarrad Branthwaite ran a wonderful show and contributed to both aspects of the game. He will take onto the field as the left-back yet again.
Midfield
While Jack Harrison and Dwight McNeil are likely to continue operating on the flanks, there could be a change in the midfield. Amadou Onana is expected to walk into the XI in place of Andre Gomes to partner up with Idrissa Gueye in the middle.
Abdoulaye Doucoure should be playing as the attacking midfielder behind the striker to create opportunities for his team.
Attack
Dominic Calvert-Lewin leads the offensive line for the Toffees. But he should be clinical in the final third as they won’t get too many chances against the Reds.
Beto (head), Lewis Dobbin (ankle), Dele Alli (groin) and Nathan Patterson (thigh) are the absentees for Newcastle United.
