Newcastle United welcomed Brentford at St. James’ Park earlier this evening as they hoped to earn a victory at home in the Premier League. The Magpies made a solid start to the game but were held to a scoreless draw at the half-time interval.

Callum Wilson finally gave the home team the lead in the 64th minute from the penalty spot. The contest ended with the Tyneside club securing a hard-fought 1-0 victory in front of their home supporters.

Let’s take a look at how each Newcastle United player performed during the clash against Brentford.

The English keeper made a couple of solid saves at the back and earned a crucial clean sheet at home.

RB: Kieran Trippier – 7.5/10

CB: Fabian Schar – 7/10

Schar didn’t hesitate to put his foot through the ball on the defensive end of the field and did enough to secure the clean sheet.

CB: Sven Botman – 7/10

He cleared the danger when needed and was a bright presence on the ball.
