According to a report from Football.London, just when it seemed like the Belgian striker was set for an exit, the transfer talks between Chelsea and Juventus went quiet. Romelu Lukaku has then been offered to Real Madrid but Los Blancos have not made an official move yet and it seems unlikely for them to engineer a move with just over a week left in the transfer window.

When questioned about the possibility of reintegrating Romelu Lukaku into the Chelsea team, Mauricio Pochettino responded, “Finding the best solution requires input from both sides. It’s not solely the responsibility of the club; it’s a mutual effort.”

Pochettino emphasized that the situation has arisen due to the interactions of both parties. He highlighted that an agreement had been reached between both sides. “We were briefed on the status of every player before signing,” he added. “Once we signed, we were working with the squad we had. The situation remains unchanged, and any relevant updates will be communicated.”

Lukaku’s Successful Loan Period At Inter Milan Last Season

Prior to his loan transfer to the Italian club, Lukaku faced a challenging phase at his former West London team, where he encountered difficulties in delivering top-notch performances as the central figure in Thomas Tuchel’s attacking tactics. Nevertheless, the 30-year-old managed a remarkable resurgence, amassing 10 goals and contributing six assists across 25 appearances for Inter in the preceding season, participating in various tournaments.

The Belgian athlete showcased consistency and reliability in the offensive region, maintaining an average of 2.0 shots, 1.3 key passes, and 0.6 dribbles per 90 minutes during Premier League matches. Yet, there were instances of less polished connections in the final third, evident from a pass completion rate of 72.5% in top-tier football (data provided by Whoscored).

Will The Chelsea Boss Utilise His Services In The Attacking Department?

Lukaku’s presence remains potent in the offensive arena, highlighting his expertise as a prolific goal-scorer within the penalty area. The seasoned striker possesses the knack for positioning himself strategically to capitalize on deliveries from his teammates, efficiently converting these chances when he’s in good form.

With Christopher Nkunku’s anticipated absence for the long term due to surgery following his injury sustained during the club’s last pre-season friendly against Borussia Dortmund, Lukaku might contend for a spot in the attacking lineup.

However, given the growing tension between him and the Blues, it’s reasonable to assume that the Belgian striker wouldn’t be inclined to remain at Stamford Bridge for an extended period. Thus, it’s plausible that he could seek an exit again in the upcoming transfer window.
