Arsenal clashed heads with Newcastle United at St. James’ Park earlier today as they hoped to earn all three points on the road in the Premier League. The Gunners made a quick start to the game and scored the opening goal in the 14th minute when Martin Odegaard found the back of the net. The North London club managed to get to the half-time break with a 1-0 lead.

Fabian Schar scored an unfortunate own goal in the 71st minute as the contest finished 2-0 in favour of Mikel Arteta’s men.

Let’s take a look at how each Arsenal player performed during the match against the Magpies.

GK: Aaron Ramsdale – 7.5/10

The English keeper made some crucial saves at the back and earned a well-deserved clean sheet away from home.

RB: Ben White – 7/10

White cleared the danger when needed but offered very little going forward.

CB: Jakub Kiwior – 7/10

He gave a good account of himself on the defensive end of the field and was accurate with his passing.

CB: Gabriel – 7/10

The Brazilian earned the ball back twice and did enough to keep a clean sheet in the end.

CM: Martin Odegaard – 8/10

Odegaard was a constant menace in the final third and scored Arsenal’s opener in the 14th minute.

ST: Gabriel Jesus – 7/10

Jesus caused a few headaches for his marker but didn’t do enough to register a goal.

LB: Kieran Tierney – 6.5/10

He was solid at the back.

ST: Leandro Trossard – 6/10

Trossard hardly got a sniff at goal.
