Manchester City will look to continue their impressive form when they host West Ham United at the Etihad Stadium in the Premier League on Sunday. Pep Guardiola’s side sit at the top of the table with a one-point lead over second-placed Arsenal after recording a 2-1 victory over Fulham in their last outing. The Sky Blues will be looking to extend that advantage with another win in this weekend’s encounter. In contrast, the Hammers suffered a blow after being defeated 4-3 by Crystal Palace in a hard-fought match.

Manchester City Vs West Ham United: Talking Tactics

David Moyes is expected to set up his team in a 4-2-3-1 formation, with Lukasz Fabianski starting in goal and Said Benrahma getting the nod over Pablo Fornals in the attacking third. At the same time, Aaron Cresswell could replace Emerson Palmieri in the backline.

Pep Guardiola will likely stick with his tried and tested 4-2-3-1 formation, with Ederson starting in goal and Phil Foden pushing for a start to replace Jack Grealish in the left wing. In contrast, Bernardo Silva could replace Riyad Mahrez on the opposite flank.

Team News

There is a possibility that Man City‘s defender, Nathan Ake, will make a comeback in the squad on Wednesday as he has recovered from his hamstring injury. However, Kevin De Bruyne, who missed the previous game against Fulham due to an unspecified injury, is yet to participate in the training and might not be able to play against West Ham on Sunday.

Kurt Zouma suffered an ankle injury during the defeat against Crystal Palace, and according to Moyes, the centre-back might be out of action for at least a couple of weeks. Apart from Gianluca Scamacca, who underwent knee surgery, no other player is absent for the Hammers.
