On Sunday, Newcastle United will embark on a journey to Stamford Bridge, where they will face Chelsea. Despite already securing qualification for the Champions League next season, the Magpies are determined to conclude their campaign on a high note. Their focus remains on finishing strong, showcasing their resilience and determination against a formidable opponent in Chelsea.

Having recently played out a goalless draw against Leicester City, Newcastle United enters the upcoming match with a determination to elevate their performance. Their objective is to secure a victory and capitalize on any potential missteps from Manchester United, which would allow them to secure the coveted third place in the Premier League standings.

Eddie Howe will probably opt for a 4-3-3 formation and is expected to make a few changes to the starting Xi for this contest. Callum Wilson will make way for Anthony Gordon in the attacking third, while Elliot Anderson continues in the absence of Joseph Willock.

Martin Dubravka will operate in between the sticks for the Magpies after Nick Pope picked up an injury. Fabian Schar will continue to function alongside Sven Botman at the centre of Newcastle’s backline as they try to keep things solid at the back during the 90 minutes.

Kieran Trippier will get the nod to start as the right-back, while Dan Burn will look to impress on the other flank as the left-back. Howe will give them the license to get forward and express themselves in the Chelsea half.

Paul Dummett will provide cover for the defensive positions on the bench.

Sean Longstaff, Bruno Guimaraes and Elliot Anderson will make up Newcastle’s midfield as they look to set the tempo of the game at the centre of the park. All three of them need to be at the top of their game if the Magpies are to come out on top at Stamford Bridge this Sunday night.

Joelinton and Joe Willock are unlikely to recover in time for this clash versus the Blues.

Anthony Gordon could get an opportunity to impress as the left-sided wide player, while Miguel Almiron looks to put his pace to good use on the right flank.

Alexander Isak will lead the line for the Tyneside club on the attacking end of the pitch. He will fancy his chances of finding the back of the net in the final fixture of this season.

Allan Saint-Maximin will have to be content with a spot on the bench as he waits for the chance to influence the game in the latter stages if Newcastle are in need of a goal by then.
