Barcelona entertained Real Sociedad at the Nou Camp earlier tonight as they hoped to secure a win at home in La Liga. The Catalan outfit made a slow start to the game and conceded the opening goal in the fifth minute when Mikel Merino found the back of the net. Barca went into the half-time break 1-0 down on the scoreline.

Alexander Sorloth doubled the visiting team’s lead in the 72nd minute. Robert Lewandowski scored a late goal for Barca but it was not enough as Xavi’s men crashed to a narrow 2-1 defeat in front of their home fans.

Let’s take a look at how each Barcelona player fared during the match against Real Sociedad.

GK: Marc-André ter Stegen – 6.5/10

The German keeper made a few important saves at the back but still ended up conceding two goals tonight.

RB: Alejandro Balde – 6.5/10

He was a positive influence at both ends of the pitch but has got nothing to show for his efforts.

CB: Jules Kounde – 6/10

Kounde made some poor errors at the back but managed to make some crucial clearances as well.

CB: Andreas Christensen – 6.5/10

He was a strong presence in the air and passed the ball accurately from inside his half.

CM: Franck Kessie – 6.5/10

He had some bright moments in the game but failed to protect his backline.

CM: Sergio Busquets – 6.5/10

Busquets secured the ball a few times for his side at the centre of the park and had some lively moments in the final third.

CM: Frenkie de Jong – 7/10

He worked hard defensively and made some energetic runs with the ball from midfield.

RW: Raphinha – 6/10

Raphinha made two positive runs with the ball but lacked quality in front of the opponent’s goal.

ST: Robert Lewandowski – 7/10

The Polish striker got his name on the scoresheet late in the game. But his goal was not enough in the end.

LW: Ousmane Dembele – 8/10

The French talent made a lot of dangerous runs with the ball but struggled to finish off his chances.

Substitutes:

CB: Marcos Alonso – 6/10

He made one decent run with the ball.

LW: Ansu Fati – 6.5/10

Fati made one key chance in the final third.

RW: Ferran Torres – 6.5/10

He came off the bench and picked up an assist.
