According to a report from Football.London, Arsenal are keen on signing Moises Caicedo of Brighton & Hove Albion in this summer transfer window. Irrespective of the outcome of this season’s Premier League title race, it has become evident that the North London club need to bolster their squad with more depth.

Why Is Arsenal Boss Mikel Arteta Pushing For His Signature?

For Mikel Arteta to reinvigorate the Gunners and mount a serious challenge next year, it is evident that he needs a squad with greater depth, especially with the prospect of Champions League football returning for the first time since 2017.

Considering the potential departure of Granit Xhaka to Germany and the fact that both Thomas Partey and Jorginho will enter their 30s when the next season commences, it becomes clear why Arteta would be eager to secure the signing of Caicedo.

Caicedo demonstrates the qualities of a determined midfielder, excelling in tackling opponents and swiftly assessing and responding to threats in the midfield, thereby posing challenges for the opposing team. He willingly clears the ball during offensive opposition play and possesses the ability to create opportunities for his teammates in the attacking third.

Beyond his defensive prowess, Caicedo exhibits a formidable long-range shot and consistently exhibits hard work on the field for the betterment of his team. Although predominantly deployed as a box-to-box midfielder for Brighton this season, he is also adaptable to the role of a defensive midfielder if required by his manager.

Acquiring Caicedo would undeniably bolster Arsenal‘s midfield, intensifying competition for places in their match-day squad. At just 21 years old, his potential for growth and development holds great promise, making him a valuable addition to the team.
