Rangers will welcome Hearts of Midlothian at the Ibrox Stadium this Wednesday night as they try to secure a good result at home in the Scottish Premiership. The Gers managed to earn a 3-1 win away at Hibernian recently which will give them a lot of confidence ahead of this game.
Michael Beale will set his side up in a 4-3-1-2 formation and could be inclined to keep chances to a minimum for this clash at home. Hence, we can once again expect to see Ianis Hagi and Fashion Sakala lead the line for the Gers in the final third. Yes, some players who have served well Rangers might come on in the second half, as revealed by Beale in his press conference, but they definitely won’t be starting.
4-3-1-2 Rangers Predicted Lineup To Face Hearts
Defence
Ross McCrorie will once again function as Rangers‘ primary keeper after conceding one goal in his last league outing. John Souttar will resume his defensive partnership with Leon King at the centre of Beale’s defence as they try to keep the opposition at bay during the game.
James Tavernier will be a nailed-on starter at right-back while Ridvan Yilmaz fills in on the other flank as the left-back. Both of them would be given the freedom to get forward and express themselves in the opponent’s half.
Allan McGregor will provide cover for the goalkeeping position on the bench.
Midfield
Ryan Jack, Nicolas Raskin and John Lundstram will anchor the midfield for Rangers as they try to make life difficult for the opposition at the centre of the park.
Todd Cantwell will play just ahead of them as a free-flowing, attacking midfielder. He has been enjoying a rich vein of form of late and would be eager to make a difference for the Gers in this midweek clash.
Scott Arfield will be named on the bench as he awaits his chance to make an impact in the second 45 minutes if Beale decides to call upon his services.
Attack
As mentioned earlier, Ianis Hagi and Fashion Sakala will spearhead Rangers’ attack up top. Both of them would have link-up with each other well and be prolific in front of the Hearts goal if the Glaswegian giants want to secure another convincing win this week.
Rabbi Matondo will be available for selection on the bench and might come on to make an impact in the latter stages if needed.
