Al-Nassr has come to the defence of Cristiano Ronaldo following accusations that he made an indecent gesture towards Al-Hilal fans during the Riyadh derby on Tuesday. Ronaldo grabbed his crotch while leaving the pitch, leading to online outrage and calls for his expulsion from Saudi Arabia.

Al-Nassr Defend Cristiano Ronaldo After The Accusations

This incident comes after Al-Nassr’s 2-0 loss to Al-Hilal, which saw the former Manchester United superstar argue with opposition players and storm down the tunnel. Following the game, Garcia was relieved of his duties after falling out with the Portuguese superstar.

Al-Nassr has refuted the claims against the Portuguese Superstar, stating that Ronaldo made no obscene gesture towards rival fans. Instead, they explained that Ronaldo suffered an injury during the game, and the gesture resulted from a sensitive area being struck.

Ronaldo Frustrated With His Side After Consecutive Losses

Ronaldo had another disappointing night as his team fell short 2-0, causing them to lose more ground to Al-Ittihad in the Saudi Pro League title race. Premier League referee Michael Oliver officiated the game, and Al-Hilal’s two goals were scored by former Manchester United forward Odion Ighalo. Ighalo’s goals, one of which was a penalty, put him seven goals ahead of Ronaldo (who has scored 11 goals so far) in the Saudi Pro Golden Boot race, with six matches remaining.

On social media, users noted similarities between Ighalo’s post-penalty celebration and Ronaldo’s rival, Lionel Messi. The home supporters also chanted for Messi throughout the game in an apparent attempt to provoke Ronaldo.
