Real Madrid faced off against Barcelona at the Nou Camp earlier tonight as they looked to secure a positive result on the road in the Copa del Rey. Los Blancos made a quick start to the game and scored the opening goal in the first half injury-time when Vinicius Junior got his name on the scoresheet. The Madrid giants went into the half-time break with a 1-0 lead (1-1 on aggregate).

Carlo Ancelotti’s men ramped up the pressure in the second 45 minutes. Karim Benzema scored a quick-fire brace after the restart before completing his hattrick in the 80th minute. The contest finished with Los Blancos earning a dominant 4-0 win (4-1 on aggregate) which was enough for them to book a place in the final of the Copa del Rey.

Let’s take a look at how each Real Madrid player fared during the match against Barcelona.

GK: Thibaut Courtois – 7.5/10

The Belgian keeper made a few solid saves at the back and earned an important clean sheet away from home.

RB: Dani Carvajal – 6/10

He didn’t do much wrong at the back and was lively going forward.

CB: Eder Militao – 7.5/10

Militao kept things tidy when defending inside his half and did enough to keep Robert Lewandowski quiet.

CB: David Alaba – 7/10

He organised his backline well and will be quite happy with the clean sheet tonight.

LB: Eduardo Camavinga – 8/10

Camavinga once again impressed at left-back as he was a positive influence at both ends of the field.

CM: Federico Valverde – 6/10

He struggled to get into the flow of the game and was mostly quiet during the game.

CM: Toni Kroos – 7/10

Kroos kept possession moving really well and produced a decent performance at the centre of the park.

CM: Luka Modric – 8/10

He made a quiet start to the game and was great after the half-time break. Modric got replaced in the 87th minute.

RW: Rodrygo – 6.5/10

He had a few bright moments in the final third but didn’t do enough to register a goal.

ST: Karim Benzema – 10/10

The French striker scored a hattrick in the second half and made a real difference for Real Madrid tonight. He deserves to get the man of the match award.

LW: Vinicius Junior – 9/10

He scored the all-important opening goal for Los Blancos and also earned a penalty in the second half. Vinicius Jr. ended the game with an assist to his name as well.

Substitutes:

RW: Marco Asensio – 6/10

Asensio offered very little after coming off the bench.

CM: Dani Ceballos – N/A

He hardly had any time to influence the game.

CM: Aurelien Tchouameni – N/A

Tchouameni came on for the final few minutes of the game.
