Manchester United clashed heads with Newcastle United at St. James’ Park earlier today as they hoped to earn a win on the road in the Premier League. The Red Devils were solid in the first half and went into the half-time interval with a goalless scoreline.

However, Erik ten Hag’s men conceded their first goal in the 65th minute when Joe Willock found the back of the net. Callum Wilson ended up killing the contest off in the 88th minute when he got his name on the scoresheet for Newcastle. The contest finished with Man United crashing to a poor 2-0 loss away from home.

Let’s take a look at how each Manchester United player fared during the match against the Magpies.

GK: David de Gea – 6.5/10

The Spaniard made a few good saves at the back but still conceded two goals in the second half.

RB: Diogo Dalot – 6/10

He made a few important clearances but was far from convincing at the back.

CB: Raphael Varane – 6.5/10

Varane didn’t hesitate to put his foot through the ball when needed but produced an underwhelming display in the second half.

CB: Lisandro Martinez – 7/10

The Argentine defender gave a good account of himself when defending inside his half and made one decent run with the ball.

Fernandes showed a few signs of promise but never looked like he would score.

The England international struggled to get into the flow of the game and was fortunate to last the whole 90 minutes.
