In a recent tweet, journalist Ignazio Genuardi stated that Manchester United are keeping tabs on AS Monaco defender Axel Disasi. It has been claimed that the Red Devils could face competition in the form of West Ham United in the race to recruit the French centre-back.
Suivi de près par West Ham, qui l’a supervisé plusieurs fois ces derniers mois, le Monégasque #Disasi ambitionne de rejoindre une formation plus huppée l’été prochain. #Manchester #United apparaît fortement intéressé par son profil. #Mercato #ASM

Disasi’s Impressive Campaign In French Football
Disasi is having a great season at Monaco as he has managed to put in a series of impressive performances for them on the defensive third of the pitch. The France international has found the back of the net on six occasions and grabbed four assists in 42 appearances for the French club during this campaign across all fronts.
The 25-year-old has proven himself to be a capable defensive presence at the back based on his average of 0.8 tackles, 1.6 interceptions and 3.1 clearances per 90 minutes in Ligue 1. He has even been accurate when distributing the ball from inside his half, as evidenced by his pass completion rate of 83.5% in top-flight football (stats via whoscored).
His current contract at the French club is set to expire in the summer of 2025. Thus, Man United will have to pay a big fee if they want to snap him up at the end of this campaign.
Is Disasi A Decent Choice For Manchester United?
Disasi is a good tackler of the ball and can time his challenges well to earn the ball back for his team when defending inside his half. He usually puts his foot through the ball when needed and can contribute by netting and creating his fair share of goals going forward.
The French sensation has got a wealth of experience in French football but only time will tell how he copes with the physical side and high intensity of the Premier League if Man United can get a deal done for him this summer.
We can expect Disasi to bring more bite and steel to Erik ten Hag’s defence and could help the Red Devils challenge for even more major honours in the not-too-distant future. At 25, the Frenchman has his best years ahead of him which makes him an excellent choice for the Mancunian club to consider in this off-season.
