In a recent report, The Sun claimed that Liverpool are facing stiff competition for Manchester City whizkid Kian Breckin. It has been mentioned that the Reds will have to rival Arsenal and Chelsea in the race to recruit the English midfielder.

Breckin’s Recent Rice In Manchester

Breckin came through the youth ranks of Man City before establishing himself as a valuable member of their Under-21 set-up. The 19-year-old has made 29 appearances for Man City’s U-21 side so far, finding the back of the net seven times and picking up four assists in all competitions.

However, the Manchester-born talent is yet to make an appearance for Pep Guardiola’s senior side and is currently on an expiring contract at the Mancunian club.

Thus, Liverpool are in a good position of recruiting him on a free transfer at the end of this campaign as they look to strengthen their squad for the future.

Liverpool Are Facing Stiff Competition For Breckin: Is He Worth The Fight?

Breckin is a gifted central midfielder who can do a little bit of everything in the middle of the park. He loves a tackle and doesn’t mind putting his foot through the ball to clear the danger when needed. Breckin is primarily a box-to-box midfielder but can also operate as a defensive midfielder or play in the number ten position if told to do so.

The English youngster has developed a knack for scoring and creating some important goals for his team. Thus, he will be a good fit for Liverpool head coach Jurgen Klopp’s brand of football in the long run.

Breckin has got the potential to become one of the best players in his position someday. Klopp could be the ideal man to oversee his development at the Merseyside club and get the best out of him in the long run.

At 19, the future is quite promising for Breckin. Hence, he will be well worth the fight as the Reds are in dire need to strengthen their midfield in the future. Both Jordan Henderson and James Milner are edging closer to the end of their Liverpool careers which makes Brecken a good option for Klopp to consider later this year.
