Casemiro Gets 8.5 | Manchester United Players Rated In Penalty Shootout Win Vs Brighton

Manchester United faced off against Brighton and Hove Albion at Wembley Stadium earlier today as both sides looked to get the better of each other in the semifinals of the FA Cup. The Red Devils made a slow start to the game but managed to get to the half-time break with a goalless scoreline.

The two teams canceled each other out in the second half as the contest went to extra time. Man United failed to make a decisive breakthrough and had to settle for a scoreless draw after 120 minutes.

Erik ten Hag’s men ended up winning the clash on penalties as they narrowed edged Brighton out 6-7 in the shootout.

Let’s take a look at how each Manchester United player fared during the match against the Seagulls.

GK: David de Gea – 7/10

The Spanish keeper made a few important saves during the game but failed to save a penalty in the shootout.

RB: Aaron Wan-Bissaka – 7.5/10

He performed his defensive duties well and made some decent runs with the ball on the right flank.

CB: Victor Lindelof – 8/10

Lindelof did his fair share of defending and ended up scoring the winning penalty in the shootout.

CB: Luke Shaw – 7/10

He gave a good account of himself on the defensive end of the pitch and made one good run with the ball.

LB: Diogo Dalot – 7/10

Dalot was a positive influence at both ends of the field and scored his penalty as well.

CM: Casemiro – 8.5/10

The Brazilian talent anchored the midfield with conviction and had a good game going forward. He converted his penalty in the shootout.

CM: Christian Eriksen – 6.5/10

He had a few bright moments in the game and was replaced in the 61st minute.

RW: Antony – 6.5/10

Antony caused some problems for the opposition defenders but there was no goal for him today.

CAM: Bruno Fernandes – 7/10

He caused a lot of headaches for the opposition defenders and engineered some decent chances for others around him.

LW: Marcus Rashford – 7.5/10

Rashford was quiet for most of the game but scored his penalty in the shootout.

ST: Anthony Martial – 6/10

He struggled to threaten the Brighton goal and was fortunate to last 84 minutes.

Substitutes:

CM: Fred – 6.5/10

He added more energy to ten Hag’s midfield.

RW: Jadon Sancho – 7/10

Sancho made an impact off the bench and scored his penalty as well.

CM: Marcel Sabitzer – 7/10

He had nerves of steel from the penalty spot.

ST: Wout Weghorst – 6/10

Weghorst kept his calm and scored his penalty.

LB: Tyrell Malacia – 6/10

Malacia struggled to get into the flow of the game.
