Paris Saint-Germain entertained Bayern Munich at Parc des Princes earlier tonight as they hoped to grind out a good result at home in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League last 16 tie. PSG made a solid start to the game but were held to a scoreless draw at the half-time break.

Kingsley Coman finally broke the deadlock in the 53rd minute for the visitors. However, the French club failed to mount a comeback and crashed to a narrow 1-0 loss in front of their home fans.

Donnarumma made a lot of crucial saves at the back but failed to keep a clean sheet tonight.

Marquinhos cleared the danger when needed and was lively on the ball as well.

The Spaniard gave a good account of himself on the defensive third of the pitch and made one good run with the ball.

He performed his defensive duties at times and made a handful of impressive runs down the left flank.

RM: Warren Zaïre-Emery – 6/10

Zaire-Emery struggled to get into the flow of the game and did well to last 56 minutes.

He anchored the midfield with conviction and made a few decent runs with the ball from midfield.

He offered decent protection for his teammates at the back but had an underwhelming game going forward.

The Spaniard caught the eye at times but struggled to be decisive in the final third.

ST: Lionel Messi – 7/10

Messi caused a few headaches for the opposition defenders but failed to register a goal tonight.

ST: Neymar Jr. – 6.5/10

He showed some glimpses of what he is capable of but didn’t do enough to find the back of the net.


CB: Presnel Kimpembe – 6/10

He tried to keep things solid when defending inside his half.

LW: Kylian Mbappe – 6/10

Mbappe made one encouraging run with the ball but didn’t look like he would score.

CM: Fabian Ruiz – 6.5/10

He had a couple of bright moments in the game.

CM: Vitinha – 6/10

He was a threat in the final third.
