Everton will face off against Leeds United as they welcome them to Goodison Park on Saturday hoping to bounce back and grab all three points. The Toffees come into the match on the back of a 2-0 defeat against Liverpool in their last outing so they will need to give a better performance this weekend in order to move up from the relegation places.
Sean Dyche will probably opt for a 4-5-1 formation and is expected to keep the changes to a minimum for this contest. The Toffees boss could allow Neal Maupay to spearhead Everton’s attack on his own up top while the rest of the players keep their places in the match-day squad.
4-5-1 Everton Predicted Lineup To Face Leeds United
Defence
Jordan Pickford will feature in between the sticks for the Merseysiders after conceding two goals in his last outing. Conor Coady will function alongside James Tarkowski at the heart of the Everton backline as they try to stop the Leeds attackers from finding the back of the net this weekend.
Seamus Coleman is expected to keep his spot at right-back while Vitaliy Mykolenko fills in on the other flank as the left-back. Both of them will have to keep things solid at the back so that they can restrict the opposition from creating too many opportunities from the flanks.
Mason Holgate and Yerry Mina will be named on the bench as they provide cover for the defensive positions.
Midfield
The midfield trio of Amadou Onana, Idrissa Gueye and Abdoulaye Doucoure will operate in the central areas as they hope to make life difficult for the opposition in the middle of the park. All three of them need to be at the top of their game if Everton are to come out on top in this home encounter.
Dwight McNeil remains a guaranteed starter on the right flank while Alex Iwobi looks to produce a hard-working performance as the left-sided wide player.
Demarai Gray and Tom Davies will be available for selection on the bench as they wait for their chance to shine in the second half if required.
Attack
Neal Maupay will lead the charge for the Toffees on the attacking end of the pitch. He has to figure out a way to cause a few headaches for the Whites’ centre-backs this Saturday.
Dominic Calvert Lewin will have to settle for a spot on the bench if he recovers in time for the Premier League match-up this weekend.
