In a recent report, Bristol World stated that Everton are facing stiff competition for Bristol City starlet Alex Scott. It has been mentioned that the Toffees will have to rival Tottenham Hotspur, Leicester City and Wolverhampton Wanderers in pursuit of the English youngster.

Scott’s Impressive Rise At Bristol City

Scott has come through the youth ranks of Bristol City and deserves credit for establishing himself as a key member of their starting XI. The 19-year-old has found the back of the net once and earned five assists in 35 matches for the English club this season across multiple competitions.

The talented teenager has proven himself to be a valuable contributor at the centre of the park and has done well to average 2.4 tackles, 1.0 interceptions, 0.7 clearances, 0.8 shots, 0.9 key passes and 0.9 dribbles per 90 minutes in the EFL Championship. He has even been accurate when distributing the ball from midfield after completing 80.7% of his attempted passes in the English second tier (stats via whoscored).

Scott is under contract at Bristol City until the summer of 2025. Thus, the Toffees will have to make a big offer if they want to win the race for his services next summer.

Everton Face Stiff Competition For Scott: Is He A Prospect For The Future?

Scott can do a little bit of everything at the centre of the park. He loves a tackle and can time his challenges well to earn the ball back for his side. The English talent doesn’t mind clearing the danger when the opposition are on the front foot and can also set up some promising chances for his teammates in the final third. However, he is still quite raw and would need time before he is ready to play in top-flight football week in week out.

Still, there is no denying that Scott has the potential to become a future star in England. Hence, he will be a great, long-term signing for the Toffees to consider this summer.

Scotti is already good enough to compete for a place in Sean Dyche‘s match-day squad and could go on to become a success story at Goodison Park if Everton are willing to be patient with his progress.

With all things considered, Scott is undeniably a prospect to watch out for in the future, so the Merseyside club should focus on trying everything they can to bring the Bristol City whizkid on board at the end of this campaign.
