Manchester United welcomed Nottingham Forest at Old Trafford earlier tonight as they looked to defend their 3-0 lead from the first leg of their EFL Cup semifinal tie. The Red Devils made a dominant start to the game but were held to a scoreless draw at the half-time interval.

Anthony Martial scored the opening goal for the Mancunian club in the 73rd minute before Fred doubled his team’s lead just three minutes later. The Mancunian club ended up cruising to a 2-0 win (5-0) which ensured their place in the final of the EFL Cup.

Let’s take a look at how each Manchester United player fared during the match against Nottingham Forest.

GK: Tom Heaton – 7/10

Heaton made a few decent saves at the back and earned an impressive clean sheet in front of the home fans.

RB: Aaron Wan-Bissaka – 7/10

He earned the ball back twice and made one good run with the ball on the right flank.

CB: Raphael Varane – 7/10

Varane didn’t do much wrong at the back and will be quite pleased with the clean sheet tonight.

CB: Lisandro Martinez – 7/10

He dealt with the danger when ended and did enough to restrict the opposition from scoring.

Shaw earned the ball back a few times and made a couple of decent chances in the final third.

CM: Bruno Fernandes – 7/10

The Portugal international did his fair share of defending and made some inviting chances in the final third.

CM: Casemiro – 7.5/10

Casemiro anchored the midfield with conviction and had some lively moments in the Nottingham half.

CM: Fred – 7/10

He had a few bright moments at both ends of the field and scored a good goal in the 76th minute.

RW: Antony – 6.5/10

Antony showed some flashes of what he is capable of but failed to register a goal.

ST: Wout Weghorst – 6.5/10

Weghorst was unfortunate to hit the post and failed to register a goal.

LW: Alejandro Garnacho – 6/10

He had some joy on the left wing but never looked like he would score.

Rashford came off the bench and picked up a couple of assists.

Sancho offered very little after coming off the bench.
