Liverpool welcomed Everton at Anfield earlier tonight as they looked to earn a good result at home in the Premier League. The Reds made a solid start to the game and got their noses ahead in the 36th minute courtesy of Mohamed Salah’s goal. Jurgen Klopp’s men sat on their lead well and went into the half-time break 1-0 up on the scoreline.

Cody Gakpo scored from close range in the 49th minute which put Liverpool 2-0 up on the night. The Merseyside derby ended with the Reds earning an impressive 2-0 victory in front of their home fans.

Let’s take a look at how each Liverpool player performed during the match against the Toffees.

GK: Alisson Becker – 6.5/10

The Brazilian keeper had to make just one save in the game and earned an easy clean sheet at home.

RB: Trent Alexander-Arnold – 7/10

He didn’t do much wrong when defending inside his half and created one key chance going forward.

CB: Joel Matip – 6.5/10

Matip made a nervy start to the game. However, he recovered well and dealt with the danger when needed.

CB: Joe Gomez – 7.5/10

He didn’t put a foot wrong in the game on the defensive third of the pitch. Gomez will be pleased with the clean sheet tonight.

LB: Andrew Robertson – 7.5/10

Robertson was solid at the back and was lively going forward as well. He played a big role in the lead-up to Gakpo’s goal.

CM: Jordan Henderson – 6.5/10

The Liverpool captain worked hard at both ends of the field but was toothless in the final third.

CM: Fabinho – 6.5/10

Fabinho anchored the midfield well at times and engineered one key chance in the opponent’s half.

CM: Stefan Bajcetic – 7/10

RW: Mohamed Salah – 8/10

Salah was a constant menace on the right wing and scored the opener with a controlled finish with his weaker foot.

ST: Cody Gakpo – 8/10

Gakpo caused some headaches for the Everton centre-backs and was there at the right place to score from close range which gave Liverpool a two-goal cushion in the second half.

LW: Darwin Nunez – 8/10

His pace caused all sorts of problems for the opposition defenders. Nunez picked up a great assist for setting up Salah’s goal.

He struggled to get into the flow of the game.

ST: Roberto Firmino – 6/10

Firmino made one key chance in the final third.
