Liverpool welcomed Everton at Anfield earlier tonight as they looked to earn a good result at home in the Premier League. The Reds made a solid start to the game and got their noses ahead in the 36th minute courtesy of Mohamed Salah’s goal. Jurgen Klopp’s men sat on their lead well and went into the half-time break 1-0 up on the scoreline.
Cody Gakpo scored from close range in the 49th minute which put Liverpool 2-0 up on the night. The Merseyside derby ended with the Reds earning an impressive 2-0 victory in front of their home fans.

The Brazilian keeper had to make just one save in the game and earned an easy clean sheet at home.

Matip made a nervy start to the game. However, he recovered well and dealt with the danger when needed.

Robertson was solid at the back and was lively going forward as well. He played a big role in the lead-up to Gakpo’s goal.

The Liverpool captain worked hard at both ends of the field but was toothless in the final third.

Fabinho anchored the midfield well at times and engineered one key chance in the opponent’s half.

He produced a matured display for the Reds in the middle of the park and was a positive influence in both halves.

Salah was a constant menace on the right wing and scored the opener with a controlled finish with his weaker foot.

Gakpo caused some headaches for the Everton centre-backs and was there at the right place to score from close range which gave Liverpool a two-goal cushion in the second half.

His pace caused all sorts of problems for the opposition defenders. Nunez picked up a great assist for setting up Salah’s goal.
