Everton entertained Arsenal at Goodison Park earlier today as they hoped to earn maximum points at home in the Premier League. The Toffees made a good start to the game and managed to get to the half-time break with a goalless scoreline.

James Tarkowski finally opened the goal-scoring in the 60th minute which proved to be the only goal of the game as Sean Dyche’s men ended up earning a hard-fought 1-0 win in front of their home supporters.

Let’s take a look at how each Everton player fared during the match against the Gunners.

GK: Jordan Pickford – 7/10

The English keeper made a few crucial saves at the back and earned a well-deserved clean sheet at Goodison Park.

RB: Seamus Coleman – 7.5/10

He gave a good account of himself on the defensive end of the pitch and had a couple of bright moments in the opponent’s half.

CB: Conor Coady – 7/10

Coady made a couple of important defensive contributions and did enough to keep the opposition attackers at bay.

CB: James Tarkowski – 8/10

The English talent earned the ball back twice and cleared the danger when required. He scored the only goal of the game at the hour mark.

LB: Vitaliy Mykolenko – 7/10

Mykolenko performed his defensive duties well and lacked quality in the opponent’s half.

He came back to defend when needed and engineered some meaningful chances in the final third. McNeil picked up an assist for setting up Tarkowski’s match-winner in the second half.

CM: Abdoulaye Doucoure – 6.5/10

Doucoure earned the ball back twice and was full of energy and running at the centre of the park. However, he failed to threaten the Arsenal goal.

CM: Idrissa Gueye – 6.5/10

He anchored the midfield well at times but struggled to influence the game going forward.

CM: Amadou Onana – 7.5/10

Onana didn’t do much wrong when defending inside his half and orchestrated a couple of decent chances on the attacking end of the pitch.

LM: Alex Iwobi – 7.5/10

He caused a lot of problems for the Arsenal defenders and came back to help his teammates out at the back.

ST: Dominic Calvert-Lewin – 6.5/10

The English forward made two encouraging runs with the ball but wasted some inviting chances to find the back of the net.

Substitutes:

ST: Neal Maupay – 6.5/10

Maupay was a threat up top.
